About Me

Howdy! I'm Stephen Mayeux, a software engineer and cloud architect from Austin, Texas. This is a personal blog where I share tutorials on programming and web development as well as my notes, musings, and learnings from my hobbies and professional life. It's also a place where I write down and share special memories from my life.
Here are a few fun facts about me:
- I'm a private pilot and currently in training to receive an instrument rating so that I can legally and safely fly through the clouds.
- I used to be an ESL teacher and have spent 4 years living abroad in South Korea.
- I've run the Austin Marathon 3 times so far!
- When I'm not coding or training for marathons, I also enjoy playing the piano, learning French, and reading science fiction.
I am happily employed as a software engineer at Favor Delivery (an H-E-B company), and I'm not looking for new opportunities at the moment. But you can still reach out and connect with me on LinkedIn.
I am an expert in JavaScript, Node.js, and React. I am also very proficient in PHP, Python, and Ruby, and have dabbled a little bit with C++ and Java. No matter what stack or language I'm working in, I love writing code that is clean, maintainable, and testable.
